Sandy & Charisse were born and raised in the City of Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Sandy had always been very athletic, participating in softball, cheerleading, swim team and track. A true cheerleader, after graduating from VUU, Sandy coached friends and family to be active and eat healthy. She joined the YMCA and fell in love with the new found fitness phenomena, and obtained her Zumba instructors certification in 2012. Charisse became her very first student and not long after, also achieved her Zumba instructors certification.
Charisse Grayer was working in Parks & Recreation for the city Harrisburg, and knew since the age of 14 that she wanted to serve her community. As an Administrative Assistant in the Public Works Department, she was spiritually connected with the community, but felt the city was missing something, something she and Sandy could provide. Shortly after introducing Zumba to the community, the pair found their impact to be tremendous in motivating and supporting the fitness and health goals of women in the community . With their passion for fitness and community, Sandy and Charisse founded “Zoombalicious”, not for profit fitness program, free to community members of all ages, activity levels, gender, and economic status.
